GREGORIS RENTIS

Born in Athens, Gregoris graduated from Imperial College London with an MEng in Electrical Engineering and from California Institute of the Arts with an MFA in Film Directing. His graduation short film Sundown (2010) premiered at Rotterdam Film Festival. 

He has been directing commercials since 2016. His work has been featured in Shots and Lurzer’s Archive, shortlisted in New York Festivals Advertising Awards and won more than 20 Ermis Production Awards, including a Grand Ermis Production and an Epica award. In 2021, he joined production house Topcut Modiano as a partner. 

Currently, he is presenting his first feature length film titled Dogwatch atVisions Du Réel, a hybrid documentary on the life of mercenaries protecting vessels along the Somali coastline, that has received the TitraFilm Award as a Work in Progress in Les Arcs Film Festival and Thessaloniki Film Festival Goes to Cannes. The film is expected to be released in 2022.
