ROLLO JACKSON
Palace Evisu
Rollo Jackson grew up immersed in the UK’s dance music culture. His early films for James Blake, Tate Britain and Warp Records all bear the subtle traces of mid-90s escapades clad in Versace prints and box-fresh Reeboks, soundtracked by crackling pirate radio or booming warehouse speakers.
Rollo followed these pieces by directing hugely popular music videos for the likes of Jamie XX, Hot Chip, Chase & Status and more recently, Pa Salieu and The Streets. He also leant his enriched aesthetic to the commercial world with films for brands including Adidas, Nike, Cav Empt and Mercedes.
His talent for documentary lead to the viral sensation ‘Tokyo: Where do you know me from?’ for Stormzy and ‘Slimzee’s Going on Terrible’, which shared rare insight into the mysterious grime icon. The collaboration with Stormzy continued with a 20-minute narrative film for the G.S.A.P. album commissioned by Fader and YouTube. He subsequently released ‘Still Storch’, a documentary about the rise and fall of legendary hip hop producer Scott Storch.
Recent commercial work includes ’Step’ for Apple, ‘Future Proof’ for Deustsche Telekom feat. Billie Eilish, ‘Arsenal ‘This is Home’, for Adidas Football and photography and video campaigns for Palace Skateboards with Evisu and Reebok
